The 2024 Northern Junior Inter Regional Regatta (JIRR) trials held at Cambois on March 16 were a testament to the dedication and skill of young rowers in the region and saw an impressive turnout of over 100 crews competing across the three divisions.
The day began with beautiful sunshine and calm waters, but as it progressed the weather turned less favourable seeing crews in division three battling some tough conditions.
Congratulations are in order for all the athletes who took part in the trials. A special commendation to the three Cambois crews selected to represent the Northern Region at the JIRR on April 20. Best of luck to these crews as they prepare to compete at the JIRR.
The event was a huge success and a heartfelt thank you to all of the volunteers, the day could not have run without their dedication and support.
